As the next stage in its Economic Development Programme, the Institute of Public Policy is launching a Masters Degree. The MPhil (Economic Development) is aimed at building a 'critical mass' of expertise in economic development both in terms of personnel and in the production of New Zealand research and development literature.

The first stage in the IPP's Economic Development Programme has focussed on professional education in the form of the Grad Dip and in the promotion of workshops and seminars. The Master of Philosophy degree in Economic Development takes the concept of professional education a stage further. It is focussed on capturing and developing the expertise of New Zealanders working in extremely diverse areas of economic development.
